In order to effectively strengthen the discipline
construction and boost the growth of young teachers, the School of Environment
held the first academic exchange seminar for young teachers on May 8, 2023 in
Conference Room No. 2 of the Roadshow Area of the Faculty and Students' House.
The seminar invited Prof. Zhan Wangcheng from East China University of Science
and Technology and Associate Researcher Peng Yue from Tsinghua University as
external experts, Prof. Wu Liguang and Prof. Jiang Boqiong from the college as
internal experts to give comments.
At the beginning of the meeting, Executive Dean Wang Meizhen
introduced to the experts and young teachers the purpose and specific
arrangements of the series of academic seminars conducted by the College of
Environment. She said that young teachers are the main force of teaching and
research in the college, and the college organized a series of exchange
seminars in the hope that all young teachers can better sort out their existing
achievements, more accurately find the shortcomings in teaching and research,
and more effectively form their own labels in the process of teaching and
research through learning and exchange. During the meeting, four young PhD
teachers, namely, Lu Shiwen, Sun Yuhai, Zhou Zhiruo and Yang Guoxian, reported
to the experts on their respective research directions, research progress, next
steps and future plans. The experts not only gave detailed guidance to the
specific work of the four young teachers, but also unreservedly shared their
personal experience on "environmental issues", "environmental
research", "writing articles vs. doing scientific research",
etc. They also shared their personal experience and insights on
"environmental issues", "environmental research",
"writing articles vs. doing research", etc.
Young teachers have expressed that the exchange seminar has
built a good interactive communication platform for teachers, and the experts'
opinions and suggestions are pertinent and effective, so we will further
clarify the direction of our own efforts, continuously improve the level of
teaching and research, and promote high-quality
development of the college and academic discipline.
